The Eiffel Tower was built in 1889 for the World Fair in Paris. It was designed by Gustave Eiffel, today it is one of the most famous monuments in the world. The tower has three levels; you can reach them by elevator or stairs.

Near the Eiffel Tower, visitors can also see:

  • The Champs de Mars, a large park perfect for photos
  • The Seine River, where you can take a boat tour
Fun Fact: Every night, the Eiffel Tower sparkles for five minutes at the beginning of each hour.

The Colosseum

The Colosseum was built in 72 AD and is the largest amphitheater ever built. It was used for gladiator fights and big public events. The building shows how advanced Roman engineering was and how important entertainment was in Roman society.

When visiting the Colosseum, you can also explore:

  • The Roman Forum, the center of ancient Rome
  • Palatine Hill, one of the oldest parts of the city
Fun Fact: The Colosseum could hold around 50,000 spectators, and people entered for free because the emperor paid for the events.
